What the work actually looks like
Analysts, advisors and project managers who join us work on a transaction from the first model through to closing.
Building financial models, analysing companies and projects, working opposite banks, institutional investors and public companies, and writing the materials on which decisions are made. Responsibility begins early, and the partners are directly involved in the day to day work.
We are a firm of some sixty advisors and specialists. Small enough that whoever joins reaches the table where decisions are made, and established enough that the transactions are among the largest in the economy.
In the first year
- Building financial models and sensitivity scenarios
- Gathering and analysing data on companies, sectors and projects
- Preparing materials for investors, lenders and boards
- Attending transaction meetings from the first weeks
What we look for
A financial background is the starting point. What sets people apart is how they think about numbers.
Analytical depth
The ability to break a transaction down into its components, build a model that withstands scrutiny, and explain what the number means, not only what it is.
Precision
In this work an error in a spreadsheet reaches the board. Attention to detail is not a nice quality here, it is a condition.
Meeting deadlines
Transactions close within windows. Working under pressure without giving up quality is part of the role.
There is no single route in. Accountants, economists, engineers and capital markets professionals have all joined us.
